Live & Local: What’s On in Bundy This Weekend

25 July, 2025

The Bundaberg region is turning up the volume this weekend with live music pulsing from just about every corner of the city and its surrounds. Whether you’re into toe-tappin’ country, laid-back acoustic sets, or rock that’ll rattle your rum and coke, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Things kick off this Friday with Shane Allsop getting the vibes started at Sugarland Tavern from 4pm, and the energy only builds from there. Mick Bazley and Those Folk are splitting the 5:30pm time slot between Ballistic Brewing and Drift and Wood Café, while Apple Tree Creek gets a dose of Mick Douglas. From 6pm, a flood of acts pour into venues across the region — Joa hits Ricks at Bargara, Frostbite chills out at Burnett Bowls, and 2EZ proves just how much fun you can pack into a Friday night at Tattersalls. You’ll also find Keely Ellen, Brad Sorensen, Kev Carroll, and more lighting up stages from South Kolan to Childers. Cap off your Friday with Dan England’s big vocals at Sugarland Tavern at 8:30pm.

On Saturday, the music starts early with Dale at River Cruz from 10am and keeps flowing right through to The Radiators bringing the house down at the Grand Hotel Childers at 8pm. The afternoon lineup includes crowd favourites like Miss Lee, Derek F Smith, and Tony Spruce before things ramp up across town with multiple artists at The New Globe Hotel, Bargara Beach Hotel, and Agnes Water Tavern. Don’t miss smooth sets from Abby Skye & Batman at The Waves, Marah Leigh at Bundy RSL, and a return from Dan England at Sugarland. Whether you’re chasing pub rock, beachside acoustic, or a nostalgic hit from The Radiators, you’re well covered.

And just when you think the weekend’s winding down, Sunday swoops in to keep the good times rolling. Dale is back at River Cruz Café from 10am, while the Grand Hotel keeps the tunes going with Amos Pellas from midday. Emma Newman lights up Sugarland Tavern, and Abigail Williams brings her magic to the Lighthouse Hotel. End the weekend with Phoebe Jay at Drift and Wood, Jay Furnish at the RSL, or Matthew Barker’s mellow set at Sandhills.

So whatever your weekend plans — make sure they include a drink in one hand and live music in the other. Bundy’s sounding pretty good right about now.
