The free, one-night-only performance is the rapid outcome of a year-long community development project supported by the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF), a partnership between the Queensland Government and Bundaberg Regional Council.

The piece, which features posts ranging from second-hand goods listings and requests for psychic mediums to passionate discussions about local politics and crisis housing, aims to capture the authentic, complex, and often bizarre voice of the Bundaberg community.

“The real poetry of a community is found in its classifieds and comment threads,” says Producer Kyle Walmsley. “For the past year, we’ve engaged local participants in eight workshops, diving into what makes this region tick. This reading is a sneak peek—a snapshot of the life and pulse of Bundaberg told entirely through its own words.”
