Firies called to Walkervale house fire

Four patients have been assessed by paramedics following a house fire at Walkervale.

Six fire crews were called to the scene on Barolin Street around 4.30am, where a section of the home was on fire with large volumes of smoke coming from one of the rooms.

Firefighters had the blaze extinguished by 5.40am.

Paramedics left the scene around 6.00am and no transports to hospital were required.

Fire investigators will be looking into the cause.
