Police have been hard at work following a number of incidents across the Bundaberg region over the past week and are calling on the community’s assistance in at least one matter.
One alleged offence involved the theft of a prime move, along with the trailer that was attached and a dozer mounted on the trailer, on Sunday September 6.
Gympie Police are appealing for information as part of investigations into the theft that allegedly occurred at Toolara Forest.
Initial investigations indicate someone gained entry to a holding yard on Tin Can Bay Road sometime between 10pm and 11pm on the 6th.
There they took a white 2000 Western Star 4800 Series and an attached Mammoth Float trailer bearing a dozer.
The dozer was later located abandoned in rough terrain off Gaeta Road in Gaeta, west of Gin Gin on September 10, while the prime mover and trailer were last spotted in the Gin Gin area.
The prime mover bears the Queensland registration number XQ23NS and the trailer bears the Queensland registration number YB30JK.
Meanwhile, police investigating a house fire near Monto last week are appealing for witnesses and vision that might assist with the investigation.
Police and emergency services were called to the Burnett Highway at Tellebang on September 10 following reports a single storey dwelling had caught fire.
The property was destroyed as a result of the fire and a crime scene has been declared, as investigations into the cause of the fire continue.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area between 2.30pm and 4.30pm and has relevant dashcam vision or CCTV, to come forward.
