Bundaberg Weekend Gig Guide: Music, Mayhem & Maybe a Little Dancing

11 April, 2025

If you’re after a dull weekend in Bundy… you’re out of luck. Because the local venues have decided that peace and quiet is overrated, and your ears deserve to be serenaded from Friday right through to Sunday night. Whether you’re into blues, rock, country, or simply love any excuse to sip a drink while pretending you understand rhythm—this weekend is stacked.

FRIDAY kicks off strong, and by “strong” we mean “start hydrating now.” At 4PM, Marah Leigh warms things up at Sugarland Tavern, while Todd Keightley is on from 5PM at Yandaran Hotel, getting the rural vibes rolling. Ballistic Brewing brings in Mick Bazley at 5:30PM—perfect timing for your after-work bevy—and the tempo rises with The Other Bloke at Tattersalls from 6PM. If you’re in Bargara, Ricks has Vette English at the same time, while Bradz Rock N Rhythm heads to Burnett Bowls. Over at Woodgate Beach Club, Phoebe Jay sings from 6:30PM, while Isis Club brings out Bones & Co.

And just in case you thought you’d get to bed early—wrong. South Kolan Hotel, The Waves Sports Club, Sandhills Sports Club, Wallaville Hotel, and Brothers Club all throw down with live music from 7PM. Got a second wind? Good. Because at 8PM Jas Deepwater hits Agnes Water Tavern and then Dave Barrie and Shane Allsop close out the night with 8:30PM sets at Sugarland and the Club Hotel respectively.

SATURDAY, the madness continues, starting at midday at Bucca Hotel with Aaron Westlake, and Metro from 12:30 with Caitlin Drew. Mixtape hits Lighthouse at 4PM—classic weekend vibes—and Sugarland Laneway gets groovy with 2EZ from 5PM. Rock heads to Moore Park Bowls with Barolin Rocks and Railmotor rolls into Codies Place.

Ballistic Brewing brings Jay Furnish at 5:30PM, followed by more Miss Lee at Ricks (clearly pulling a Beyoncé-level tour this weekend). Keely Ellen pops up again at Bargara Beach Hotel at 6:30, but the main event may just be the 7PM Iron Maiden Tribute Show at Sugarland Tavern: ACE HIGH. Air guitars at the ready, people.

Also at 7PM—Brothers Club has Todd Keightley (yes, again—he’s clearly teleporting), Sonic Playground rocks The Waves, and Caitlin Drew returns for round two at Sandhills. Agnes Water is throwing down with Coighty & The Kickstands at 8PM, and Shane Allsop—possibly a time-travelling music cyborg—is back at Club Hotel from 9:30PM.

SUNDAY, if you’ve survived, or even if you haven’t, you’re in for some chill (ish) recovery tunes. Sugarland Laneway welcomes By Chance from midday, alongside Bre Ferguson at Bucca and Dan Pastoor at Yandaran. Keely Ellen—unstoppable at this point—takes the 1PM slot at Lighthouse Hotel. Ballistic Brewing hosts Amy Alice, and The Other Bloke returns to The Waves at 4PM to help you wind down… or ramp back up. Finally, Todd Keightley sees the weekend out at 5PM at Sandhills Sports Club—because apparently, sleep is optional.

So whether you’re bar-hopping, beer-sipping, or pretending to know all the lyrics while your mate actually sings the wrong ones with confidence—there’s a gig for that. Bundy is buzzing, so get out there and soak it up!
