Bundy’s Big Weekend: Celebrate Mum with Live Music, Good Vibes & Great Food

9 May, 2025

This Mother’s Day weekend, Bundaberg is rolling out the red carpet – and the mic stands – for a jam-packed few days of entertainment, delicious food, and serious mum-spoiling potential. Whether she’s into chilled-out acoustic vibes, dancing to some local legends, or sipping something cold by the beach, there’s an event with her name on it. Here’s what’s happening around the region:

Friday kicks off the fun with an afternoon full of good grooves. Head to Sugarland Laneway from 4PM to catch Miss Lee, or slide into Drift and Wood for a set by Phil McIntyre. If your mum’s the pub type with a taste for country charm, Keenan Brittain is taking the stage at Yandaran Hotel at 5PM. From there, the music doesn’t stop. 2EZ hits Ballistic Brewing, Kim Churchill brings the magic to Oodies Café, and Vette English lights up Rick’s. You’ll also find The Other Bloke at Tatts, Bradz Rock n Rhythm rocking Burnett Bowls, and the evening continues across the region with Jake Higgins at Woodgate Beach Club, Bre Ferguson at Brothers, and Todd Keightley at the Lighthouse Hotel – just to name a few. And if Mum’s got some dance moves left, Sugarland Tavern’s got Mick Douglas from 8:30PM.

Saturday delivers a day full of sunshine, snacks, and sweet sounds. Start your morning at River Cruz Café with Elisha Commandau or take Mum out to Fairymead House where Abigail Williams will be serenading in the gardens from 2PM. Feeling a bit more high-flying? “Picnic with the Planes” features Marah Leigh – perfect for aviation-loving mums! In the evening, find 2EZ back at Sugarland Laneway, Keely Ellen at Ballistic Brewing, Miss Lee at Rick’s, and Phoebe Jay doing her thing at Bargara Beach Hotel. The entertainment continues into the night with the Dodgie Brothers at Brothers, Derek F Smith at Waves, and a full dance card of acts from Bundy to Agnes Water.

Then on Sunday – it’s all about Mum. Treat her to breakfast at the Old Bundy Tavern with Jay Furnish, or a riverside brunch with Dale at River Cruz. There’s music happening all across town: Abigail Williams at Woodgate, Abby Skye at Brothers, Kathryn Coad at Yandaran Hotel, and a full afternoon of family-friendly fun. Don’t miss Maddie Harman at SURGO, Brad Sorensen at the RSL, and a double dose of relaxing tunes from The Other Bloke at Waves and Todd Keightley at Drift and Wood.

So whether you’re treating Mum, being Mum, or just tagging along for the good times – Bundaberg’s got the beats, brews, and bites to make this weekend one to remember.

Happy Mother’s Day, Bundy-style!
