Bundy’s Big Weekend: Music, Mates & Mayhem!

16 May, 2025
Looking for something to do this weekend that doesn’t involve alphabetising your spice rack or pretending to fold the washing? Well, Bundy’s coming in hot with a jam-packed weekend of live music, good vibes, and reasons to stay out way past your bedtime.
Friday is firing on all cylinders, starting at 4PM with Hats On kicking things off at the Sugarland Tavern. If you need to debrief from the workweek with a drink in hand and tunes in the background, David Flower will be setting the vibe at Drift and Wood from 5PM, followed closely by Matthew Farthing at Ballistic Brewing at 5:30PM — and yes, beer always sounds better with music.
Come 6PM, it’s a full-blown musical buffet: Miss Lee will be making magic at Rick’s, The Other Bloke rocks the Burnett Bowls Club, Frostbite brings the chill to Tatts, and if you’re lucky enough to score a ticket, Terry Daktyl is playing a special show at The Spotted Dog (yes, we said “Terry Daktyl” — prehistoric pun and all).
From Bevan Spiers at the Isis Club at 6:30 to Abby Skye & Batman at The Waves and Matt Black at the Lighthouse, Friday night is bursting at the seams with talent. And don’t forget The Fill Ins in Agnes Water and Andy McLucas closing out the night at Sugarland with an 8:30PM show.
Saturday keeps the party rolling, kicking off with Dale at River Cruz Café at 10AM, followed by Derek F Smith at Bucca and Tony Spruce at the Metro Hotel.
Afternoon sesh? Sorted. Mr Chollin plays at Codies at 2PM, then things heat up from 5:30PM with Matthew Barker at Ballistic. The night gets serious with Vette English, Dan Pastoor, Wal Neilsen, and the Brendan Egan Trio, all making the rounds from Bargara to The Waves. Even Biggenden’s got a party going, with Mick Douglas bringing the energy at 8:30PM for their show.
Sunday gives us zero reasons to stay home, starting early with Dale back at River Cruz. Midday brings more talent than you can poke a pub lunch at: Dan Pastoor, Keely Ellen, Abigail Williams, and Vette English all gracing venues across the region.
At 1PM, the Italian Choir takes to The Waves stage (because nothing says Sunday serenity like a touch of culture), followed by Brendan Egan at the RSL and Murphy Rd at Drift and Wood from 4PM. And if you’re still kicking on by 5PM, Miss Lee wraps the weekend with some smooth tunes at Sandhills.
