Live & Local: What’s On in Bundy This Weekend

4 July, 2025
Get ready, Bundaberg — the local music scene is firing on all cylinders this weekend, and you’ve got front-row seats. Whether you’re into smooth acoustic sets, rock ‘n’ roll throwbacks, or just want an excuse to sink a cold one while someone plays guitar nearby, there’s something happening every night that’ll hit the right note.
It all kicks off Friday afternoon with Jodie Hughs at the Sugarland Tavern and Squeaky Buddha bringing the vibes to Surgo. Over at Ballistic Brewing, Keely Ellen sets the tone from 5:30, while Che Remedy keeps things cruisy at Drift and Wood. By 6PM, it’s a full spread of talent: Brooklyn Sauer at Ricks at Bargara, Vette English at the Federal in Childers, The Other Bloke at Burnett Bowls, and Todd Keightley setting the mood at Sandhills. Things ramp up even further with Andrew Copland at the ISIS Club, and performances from Bre Ferguson, Marah Leigh, Rooster, and Anne Etherton across town. And if you’re still standing at 8:30, wrap up the night with Russell Bishop at Sugarland Tavern or Dan Pastoor at Agnes Water Tavern.
Saturday rolls in with Dale warming up River Cruz Cafe at 10AM, followed by afternoon entertainment like Todd Keightley at Bucca Hotel, Tony Spruce at Metro, and a second appearance by The Other Bloke at Marine Rescue Bundaberg. As the evening hits, Sophie Rose performs at Codies Place, JUA gets things going at The New Globe, and 2EZ takes over Sugarland Laneway. From 5:30, you’ll find Mick Bazley at Ballistic Brewing and Miss Lee at Ricks. Jodie Hughes is back at the Federal Hotel, Keenan Brittain entertains at Sandhills, and Marah Leigh brings the tunes to Bargara Beach Hotel. Saturday night continues with Kenny and the Nitro Rockers shaking the Brothers Club, Kathryn Coad at the Spotted Dog, Brendan Egan Trio at The Waves, Rooster rocking Sugarland Tavern, and Derek F closing out the RSL.
On Sunday, River Cruz wakes us up with Dale from 10AM, and then Aaron Westlake hits Bucca Hotel at noon while Timothy Johnson takes the Sugarland Tavern stage. Lighthouse Hotel hosts Keely Ellen from 1PM, Ballistic Brewing turns into a jam session, and Mixtape fills Rosedale Hotel with classics at 2PM. As the weekend winds down, enjoy Abigail Williams at Bundaberg RSL from 3:30PM, Todd Keightley at The Waves from 4PM, Rhyley McGrath at Codies Place, and Matthew Farthing closing out the Sandhills Sports Club at 5PM.
So grab your mates, plot your venue hop, and give your weekend the live soundtrack it deserves.
