Join us at Macca’s on McHappy Day, Saturday 17th November and let’s make a difference.
Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) is an independent charity that helps families of seriously ill children. They help keep families together and close to the care their child needs.
The cornerstone program of RMHC, the Ronald McDonald House, provides a ‘home away from home’ for families of seriously ill children being treated at nearby hospitals. In 1981 the first Australian Ronald McDonald House opened in Sydney’s Camperdown. There are now 16 Ronald McDonald Houses in Australia and more than 360 houses worldwide.
RMHC requires ~$30million to operate nationally each year and we raised $4.01m in 2017. While prompted awareness for RMHC is high it has dropped over the last 10 years.
McHappy Day is one of RMHC’s most recognised and successful fundraising initiatives. It is a day where McDonald’s really gets behind the charity and enables donations to RMHC both inside and outside of McDonald’s restaurants.
There are a number of ways to donate in restaurant:
· $2 from any Big Mac goes to RMHC
· Purchase a ‘Helping Hand’ ($2, $5, $10, $50)
· Buy Silly Socks ($5)
· Via the bucket brigade - all restaurants will be equipped with McHappy Day donation buckets, and you can make a donation at any of the McDonald's restaurants across Australia.
