The Premier has confirmed the Burnett River is now unlikely to peak at 7.6 metres, as previously expected.
The Burnett River reached its peak in Bundaberg around 9am, at 7.4 m. Levels are expected to fluctuate slightly with the tide.
The Bureau of Meteorology is continuing to monitor the situation, with a second peak possible further up the river.
The inundation is moving along the upper Burnett River downstream of Eidsvold, which may cause small renewed rises at Mundubbera and Gayndah.
However, this peak is unlikely to result in significant renewed rises downstream of Paradise Dam.
As it stands hundreds of homes are without power, and about 300 homes are inundated.

There is still an Emergency Warning in effect for locals who live at Bundaberg North, East, South and Central.
An evacuation center has been set up at Branyan’s recreational precinct, 7 Kendalls Rd, Branyan.
According to Bundaberg Regional Council 197 people were sheltering at centre as of 9am on Wednesday.
It’s important to bring your phone, charger, medication and clothes if needed.
The Bundaberg Region recorded 189 SES callouts from yesterday into today.
SES incident controller Keiran Gailey said crews had a mostly quiet night last night, and are preparing to move into recovery mode.
An extra 30 police officers have in town to help, alongside firefighters, ambulance officers and SES workers from across the state.
