A man has been airlifted to hospital from a rural area in the Bundaberg region after suffering severe burns while frying bread.
The Bundaberg-based LifeFlight chopper was called to the incident on Monday at 8.55am, landing at a private property near the scene.
It’s believed the man in his 50s had tripped and fallen during the cooking incident.
The critical care LifeFlight doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) flight paramedic worked with local QAS paramedics to treat the patient for head and chest burns.
The helicopter airlifted the man to the LifeFlight Brisbane base where the crew was met by QAS paramedics.
The patient was road transported to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for further treatment.
The Bundaberg-based LifeFlight helicopter and crew service the Wide Bay-Burnett region and beyond.
