The community will come together on Friday morning to celebrate First Nations People, their culture and heritage.
Hundreds of residents are expected to hit the streets in Bundaberg for the annual NAIDOC March.
Chenica Saltner from the local NAIDOC committee expects it’ll be a bit of an emotional day as it pays tribute to this year’s theme ‘For Our Elders’.
“It’s just an amazing feeling seeing everyone come together and help us celebrate our culture,” she says.
The event is open to people of all backgrounds and Ms Saltner hopes the blending of cultures will continue well after NAIDOC Week.
“It’d be amazing to see other things happen outside of NAIDOC Week,” she says.
“We’re always happy to share our culture and our knowledge with people and bring awareness to our culture.”
The march starts at 9am outside the Club Hotel and ends with a family fun day at Lions Park.
