Wildlife officers have failed to locate a crocodile, after the animal was reported in the Bundaberg region last week.
Rangers searched creeks and rivers for the animal which was spotted at Coonarr Beach last week but could not find it.
The crocodile would have been about 150 km from its normal habitat, with experts believing it had travelled from the Boyne River near Gladstone.
Department of Environment and Science officers conducted 450 km of aerial surveys, land surveys and sea scans across coastline, rivers and creeks.
Experts believe it has returned north to its habitat, but say locals can stay up to date via the QWildlife app.
