Woman accused of serious assault at Thabeban

A 53-year-old woman has been charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm in relation to an alleged wounding at Thabeban on Saturday.

It’s alleged the woman used a knife to puncture a vehicle’s tyres at a Sunset Drive residence around 9:20pm.

Police say when the owner of the vehicle, a 48-year-old man known to the woman, confronted her she slashed him on the face and chest, before leaving the scene on foot.

The man was transported to Bundaberg Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Police tracked the woman to a nearby address where it is alleged she threatened officers, but was eventually taken into custody without incident.

While in custody, the woman is then accused of kicking a police officer.

She has been charged with wilful damage, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, obstruct police and serious assault police officer.

She has been remanded to appear before Bundaberg Magistrates Court on November 22.

Investigations remain ongoing, anyone with information or who witnessed the incident is urged to contact police.
