A disappointing State Budget for Bundaberg according to local MP David Batt. He says there's an $11.5 billion capital program across Queensland yet the Wide Bay Burnett region, which has the largest per capita area in regional Queensland, was given the second least amount of capital money, $592 million. Mr Batt says there are only two new capital projects for Bundaberg; a Branyan Road State School class room addition and Bundaberg Hospital pathology refurb. While the State Government is investing a few hundred thousand dollars to strengthen our biosecurity capability. They're forming two new regional partnership projects, one with the Wide Bay Burnett Regional Organisation of Councils. The organisation will receive $375 thousand over two years to develop a coordinated approach to managing invasive plants and animals.
