A Bundaberg man has been recognised for allowing Police to use his boat to make an arrest on the Burnett River.
Acting Inspector Glenn Cameron presented Nicholas Hart with an Inspector’s certificate, in recognition of his assistance in May 2019.
Earlier this year, police were searching for a person of interest who had entered the Burnett River and swam across to Harriet Island. Locating the man quickly was paramount.
Mr Hart allowed Officers to use his boat to cross to the island and continue the search for the man.
The man was subsequently located on Harriet Island by Police Dog Stinger, and taken into custody.
Mr Hart was unable to attend the recent Bundaberg Patrol Group Honours and Awards Ceremony, however earlier in the week he dropped by Bundaberg Police Station.
Acting Inspector Cameron was on hand to present him with the award which was presented in recognition for his conduct and assistance in the police search.
In thanking Mr Hart, Acting Inspector Cameron said his actions were crucial to the police investigation and resolution of the incident.
