The University of Queensland Rural Clinical School (UQRCS) has welcomed 27 medical students to Bundaberg!
The students will spend the year with UQRCS Bundaberg for the clinical training component of UQ’s flagship Doctor of Medicine program.
Bundaberg is one of four outstanding UQRCS sites that deliver learning experiences characterised by rich and authentic teaching opportunities in a regional and rural context.
Students benefit from increased understanding and enthusiasm when they are immersed in a local community, and this boosts their likelihood of choosing a future in regional/rural medicine.
This week marks Introductory Week – a week focussed on inducting the students into the Bundaberg site, as well as introducing them to the clinical skills they will be studying over Semester 1.
