A Bundaberg man has been hit with a $1000 fine and eight demerits after allegedly being nabbed going nearly 50km/h over the limit.
Police allege the 25-year-old was driving 147 in a 100km/h zone on the Bruce Highway at Torbanlea earlier this month.
The driver of the vehicle was issued with a $1,245 fine and eight demerit points.
A statement from Maryborough Police said they "want to remind road users of the Fatal Five factors, especially as we are starting to see more drivers on our roads".
"Slow down, don’t drink/drug drive, always wear your seat belts, don’t drive fatigued and don’t drive distracted."
