An influx of visitors from down south has been predicted for Bundaberg in the wake of state border's reopening.
The local tourism industry has been struggling since Queensland shut borders down back in March.
Bundaberg Tourism CEO Katherine Reid said the industry is really excited to have clarity over the border reopening, as it will be a boost for the Winter months.
"The Bundaberg region is in quite a strong position domestically but over these winter months we do see an influx of southern travellers escaping the winter for a bit of Queensland sunshine," Ms Reid said.
Ms Reid said they believe the strongest market will come from a 400km radius.
"We've seen great numbers in our coastal areas and a lot of people booking in accomodation and their tours out to the reef," Ms Reid said.
"It gives us a boost for our Winter months."
