Wide Bay paramedics have been given a boost to help them train for real life emergencies.

Nine new training manikins have been donated to our local paramedics to help them train for real life emergencies, following a $180,000 donation from the Local Ambulance Committees (LACs) of Bundaberg and Hervey Bay.

Queensland Ambulance Service Acting Manager of Clinical Education Gavin Becker said it is important paramedics have up-to-date equipment:

"The manikin can ventilate itself, it shows spontaneous breathing, it's lips can turn blue ... they're able to do all the skills on this manikin, above and beyond the other manikins that we have," Mr Becker said.
