A sea eagle has been released back in the wild after being found hanging from a tree with a hook in it's beak near Bundaberg.
The Brahminy Kite was found by a local fisherman at Coonarr Beach, hanging from a branch by the fishing line and unable to free itself.
The bird was cut down and taken to a local vet for overnight observation, before being released back into the wild on Saturday.
RSPCA Qld's Bundaberg Inspector Andrew Petrie said it was a timely reminder to clean up your fishing waste.
"Sadly, we see birds entangled in fishing line on a regular basis. At our Wildlife Hospital in Brisbane a pelican came in that had seven hooks in it and on it," said Mr Petrie.
