The neighbourhood watch in Bundaberg South have put the call out for new members.

Area Coordinator Sandy Nicholson said she was inspired to re-launch the program in the area after her friend, who lives alone, was frightened people in her yard.

"There are a lot of people in our area that live on their own and don't necessarily know their neighbours," Ms Nicholson said.

"It would be nice for people to be able to get to know their neighbours and know what's going on in the area."

They will be holding their first meeting this month at the Melbourne Hotel, though RSVP's are essential due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Ms Nicholson said the meeting is obligation-free.

"Come along, it's just a 'get to know you' and get to know what's available in the area," Ms Nicholson said.

Details on how to RSVP are on the Bundaberg South Neighbourhood Watch Facebook page.
