Investigations continue into an alleged assault at Childers that left a man with serious injuries.
Emergency crews were called to reports a man had allegedly been punched and knocked to the ground while leaving a licensed premises at Churchill Street just after midnight on Sunday morning.
A Queensland Police spokesperson said a 41 year old man sustained a fractured nose and jaw, a black eye and lacerations to the face.
The spokesperson said there is an indication the offender was possibly known to the victim, and there may have been an altercation beforehand.
Queensland Ambulance Service said they transported the patient to Bundaberg Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
No charges have been laid but further inquiries are being made.
