Warning for severe thunderstorm for areas including Wide Bay

Severe Thunderstorm Warning for DAMAGING WINDS, LARGE HAILSTONES and HEAVY RAINFALL

For people in parts of Central Highlands and Coalfields, Capricornia, Maranoa and Warrego and Darling Downs and Granite Belt Forecast Districts.
 
Issued at 4:19 pm Wednesday, 21 October 2020.
 
Severe thunderstorms for parts of the southeast interior.
 
Weather Situation:
 
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. 
 
Locations which may be affected include Taroom, Dirranbandi, Miles, Surat and Mungindi.
 
Severe thunderstorms are no longer occurring in the Wide Bay and Burnett district and the warning for this district is CANCELLED.
 
67 km/hr wind gust at Roma at 2:46pm.
94 km/hr wind gust at Rockhampton at 1:14pm.
 
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should: 
* Move your car under cover or away from trees. 
* Secure loose outdoor items. 
* Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded, forget it. 
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees. 
* Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm. 
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines. 
* For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500. 
 
The next warning is due to be issued by 7:20 pm.

Severe thunderstorms near Roma, as well as near Monto/Thangool.
 
Weather Situation:
 
Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Roma, Monto, Injune and Surat.
 
67 km/hr wind gust at Roma at 2:46pm.
94 km/hr wind gust at Rockhampton at 1:14pm.
