Locals are being reminded of the important safety equipment to keep on board your vessel if you're heading onto the water this summer.
Volunteer Marine Rescue Bundaberg Public Relations Officer Graham Kingston says it's important to let folks at home know where you're going and when you're going to be back.
"We also highly recommend that people have a vessel committed with VHF radio if they're heading offshore," Mr Kingston says.
"It's very good to log on with a marine rescue organisation because as soon as you're overdue we will start a process of looking for you, so it's a very important safety umbrella."
Mr Kingston says life jackets, an EPIRB, plenty of fuel, an anchor and a VHF radio are also some of the must-have pieces of safety equipment.
