A helping hand for bushfire affected communities, with $10.7 million set to be handed out to 21 resilience projects across the state.

Bundaberg Regional Council will received $178,000 for mobile firefighting equipment through the Queensland and Federal Government Local Economic Recovery Program.

Minister for Emergency Management David Littleproud says they vowed to support these communities on their recovery journey.

He says these grants will offer a welcome economic boost and help improve resilience.

“Bundaberg, Gladstone, Gympie, Ipswich, Lockyer Valley, Scenic Rim, Somerset and Toowoomba councils, and the Department of Environment and Science, have identified key priorities for their communities and are delivering a broad range of economic, resilience, built environment and natural environment initiatives," Mr Littleproud says.

Queensland Deputy Premier Steven Miles says every community faces different challenges and has different priorities on their recovery journeys and that the government is pleased to provide support for that.
