State Emergency Service volunteers have donated hundreds of thousands of work hours, assisting authorities throughout the pandemic.
It's one of the things they're being celebrated for this SES week.
There are about 6,000 volunteers donating their time to the service across Queensland, including 876 here in North Coast region, which covers Bundaberg.
Acting Director Glenn Alderton says they've been assisting Queensland Health and police during the pandemic.
"Helping them out with the borders, road borders and the airport, assisting in the quarantine hotels, fever clinics and the vaccination centres as well," Mr Alderton says.
"We've spent a couple of hundred thousand hours, I guess, over the last 18 months, helping those agencies out."
