The speed limit on Goodwood Road at Doolbi will be lowered this month to improve safety.
Community members have raised concerns over the stretch, north of the Isis Golf Club, prompting the Queensland Police Service, Bundaberg Regional Council and the Department of Transport and Main Roads to look into the issues.
Member for Bundaberg Tom Smith says they undertook a review of the one kilometre section of road.
"The review considered a range of factors such as road use, roadside environment, design and construction standards, existing speeds and crash history," Mr Smith says.
“In consideration of these factors, the recommendation is to permanently reduce the speed limit by 20km/h."
New speed signs will be installed north of the Isis Golf Club this month, showing the speed through Doolbi is now 80km/h.
