Union says transfers resolved bullying within police

police

The Queensland Police Union of Employees says personnel within the Wide Bay Burnett Police District have been transferred.

It comes after an investigation was launched last month into workplace bullying, which the union claimed was preventing officers from doing their jobs.

General Secretary of the Union Mick Barnes says the Queensland Police Commissioner announced transfers the day after the investigation was announced.

“We hope that any behaviour that has been occurring will now desist.

“Police Officers take to their duty seriously and it is our role to make sure that they are able to go about their duties without such encumbrance.”

The union will continue to work with management in the region.
