Taylor Swift fans think they’ve cracked the case that she is about to release a new album, or more so, another Taylor’s Version. After many others previously already getting a Taylor’s Version, many fans have eagerly been awaiting for the release of the Reputation album as a Taylor’s version.
With the MTV AMAs on the horizon there would be no better time to announce new music for any artist. But there’s more to this theory that swifties have found beyond the American Music Awards. On Taylor Swifts current website when you go to the store you can find the categories apparel, music, accessories, and sale.
Did you catch it?
Swifities are theorising the order of shop categories is a hint at an announcement soon to be made at the AMAs. How so? Well they’re set out in order of (A)pparel, (M)usic, (A)ccessories, and (S)ale, spelling out AMAs. Coincidence? Perhaps, but for Taylor Swift of all artists it’s likely not, she has in the past love to sprinkle easter eggs for fans to find about upcoming announcements and new music releases so this could very well have some legs to stand on.
The reason for Reputation in particular is that it simply would be the next album in line following the trend of Taylor’s Versions coming out. Plus, I doubt it’ll be a new album as The Tortured Poets Department is still relatively fresh.
All that said, this isn’t the first time fans have theorised the announcement of the Reputation album getting a Taylor’s Version announcement. It was last year at the 2024 VMAs when fans spotted Taylor Swift on the red carpet wearing colours associated with the Reputation album which had fans absolutely certain they were in for an announcement. But sadly no dice.
Will we see it finally come to fruition this year though at the AMA’s later this month on May 26th?
Who knows! Maybe they’re right and figured it all out, or maybe, we’re in for a night that’ll ultimately leave us disappointed. Whatever the case, swifities will tuning in to find out for themselves.
