A search and rescue operation looking for a reported missing swimmer at Baragara has concluded, after the man reported himself to police.
The man matching the description of the reported missing swimmer presented himself to police, yesterday, saying he had been swimming in the area but exited the water further north.
The search operation began on Wednesday evening after members of the public sounded the alarm that a man had not resurfaced.
Police would like to thank Surf Lifesaving Queensland (SLSQ), State Emergency Service (SES), Volunteer Marine Rescue (VMR), Australian Border Force (ABF) and LifeFlight for assisting in the search.
Bundaberg Patrol Group Chief Inspector Grant Marcus says it’s a good outcome.
“Community safety, including the safety of each individual, is our highest priority.
“We will throw every resource at investigating reports of a person who is missing or in danger to ensure they’re located safe and well.
“I thank all our partner agencies, the media and members of the public, who assisted in ensuring this man was safe.”
