Bundaberg’s crash hotspots revealed

Failure to give way is the leading reason for crashes around the Rum City.

That’s according to the latest AAMI Crash Index which analysed insurance claims in our region over the past year.

The insurer’s Tammy Hall says they’ve been able to uncover specific details.

“Friday is actually the most common day to have an accident and usually in the afternoon between 1 and 4:30pm, so it’s the perfect combination of being the end of the week and the end of the day when drivers are feeling more fatigued,” she says.

“Across Australia males were more likely than females to be involved in crashes and it may come as a surprise but drivers aged 35-49 were the most likely to have a crash.

“I think some times we think it’s going to be younger, less experienced drivers.”

Bourbong Street has been named our riskiest road while Walker and Maryborough Streets tied for second place.
