Charges laid after several alleged property crimes

A 28-year-old man has been charged following investigations into multiple property crimes in Bundaberg over the past month.

Police will allege the man was involved in a stolen car incident reported by a business in Bundaberg West on December 23.

The man was allegedly in possession of the vehicle until January 6, when the keys were located during a search warrant at a Takalvan Street property.

It will be further alleged the man committed a number of property-related thefts in the Bundaberg area while in possession of the stolen vehicle, including taking an ATM at Bargara on January 1.

Following extensive investigations by detectives from Bundaberg Criminal Investigation Branch, the 28-year-old Branyan man was located and arrested at an Agnes Waters property on Monday January 9.

He has been charged with multiple offences including six counts of enter premises and commit indictable offence, four counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle, evasion, stealing and wilful damage.

The man was remanded in custody and is expected to reappear at Bundaberg Magistrates Court on February 10.
