Designs for upgrades at the Walkers Point Boat ramp have been finalised.
The plan includes a new floating walkway and rock wall, along with a revamp of the existing two-lane facility.
The Member for Burnett, Stephen Bennett, said the works are designed to enhance safety and accessibility for all users.
“We know Walkers Point is popular with local boaties and tourists to Woodgate,” Mr Bennett said.
“We appreciate and thank the local community for their support and patience as we get the crucial planning steps right.”
The upgrades will also include considerations from the local Indigenous community.
“The thorough planning works undertaken of the site have presented some significant cultural heritage complexities, necessitating extensive consultation with the traditional owners,” Mr Bennett said.
“We are delighted to shape this collaborative and meaningful working relationship with the First Nations Bailai, Gurang, Gooreng Gooreng, and Taribelang Bunda people.”
Works are expected to be completed by mid-next year.
