Four people have been rescued after their boat sank near the mouth of the Burrum River.
Water Police were called at around 9.45 yesterday morning, after an EPIRB was activated and an emergency broadcast was made.
A nearby fisherman was able to find and locate the missing boaties and pull them to safety.
Water Police arrived a short time later to assist the group, a 52-year-old woman, a 48-year-old man, a 21-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man, all from Burrum Heads.
Nobody was injured during the incident.
Water Police are urging boaties to ensure they have the appropriate safety equipment onboard, prior to venturing out these school holidays.
