Funding boost for Bundaberg housing projects

Three Bundaberg housing projects have been given a boost thanks to the State Government’s Residential Activation Fund.

The State Government has agreed to fund 22 million dollars’ worth of trunk infrastructure for the Coral Cove Ocean Estate.

While two projects in Innes Park will receive a combined $1 million for works under the Residential Activation Fund.

It’ll go towards sewer rising main upgrades on Poinciana Drive, as well as an intersection upgrade on that road and Back Windemere Road.

The Member for Burnett, Stephen Bennett, says their Residential Activation Fund will help unlock more homes in the future.

“This critical investment comes just months after the Deputy Premier visited Bundaberg, where he announced $11 million of RAF funding would unlock 10,000 new homes,” Mr Bennett said.

Mayor Helen Blackburn added that the funding will help target identified housing challenges.

“This support is vital to addressing housing challenges in our community while supporting local jobs and economic development,” Ms Blackburn said.
