More than $11 million will be poured into the construction of critical infrastructure across the Bundaberg region.

It’s to support the expected addition of 10,000 homes in our local area – part of the state government’s Residential Activation Fund.

The works include sewerage and water piping at Elliot Heads and Ashfield, along with the upgrade of the Back Windermere and Barolin Homestead Road intersection at Coral Cove, and stormwater infrastructure at Kellys Road.

Deputy Premier and Infrastructure Minister Jarrod Bleijie said it is partnering with the Bundaberg Regional Council to deliver the works.

“(We’re) delivering on our election commitment to give more Queenslanders a place to call home by investing in six critical infrastructure projects in the Bundaberg region,” Mr Bleijie said.

While the Member for Burnett, Stephen Bennett, supported the state government’s push.

“This investment will address housing shortages in the region and give more Queenslanders a place to call home,” Mr Bennett said.

Bundaberg mayor Helen Blackburn said she’s delighted to work with the State Government to secure the funding.
