Investigations launched into fatal Drinan crash

Tragedy has struck a small community west of Bundaberg for the second time in three weeks with another driver killed on our roads.

A 73-year-old man has died following a two-vehicle crash at Drinan on Friday, January 13.

At approximately 5.45pm, a Kia Sportage was travelling south along Walaville Goondoon Road when it collided with an oncoming Toyota Prado.

The driver and sole occupant of the Kia, a 73-year-old Drinan man, died at the scene.

The driver and two passengers of the Prado; a 20-year-old Kalkie man, a 51-year-old Kalkie woman and a 20-year-old Woongarra man were taken to Bundaberg Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam vision to come forward.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

The man’s death comes after a 28-year-old Gin Gin man died in a crash in the area on Christmas Eve.
