Construction is set to begin for intersection upgrades on Goodwood Road.
It’ll include new traffic lights, pedestrian crossings, and bike lanes at the McCarthy Road and Thabeban Street intersections.
Member for Burnett, Stephen Bennett, said the hotspots have been a major concern for residents.
“I’m thrilled to see these long-overdue upgrades moving forward,” Mr Bennett said.
“I want to thank the residents who spoke up and made their voices heard over the last five years.”
The works will affect nearby St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, whose principal welcomes the project.
“The installation of traffic lights on the corner of Goodwood and McCarthy Rd will definitely benefit many of our families here at St Mary’s Catholic Primary School,” David Boge said.
“Having the lights installed will benefit numerous people each and every day, both before and after school.”
Works are expected to begin in the coming weeks.
