The search is ongoing for a man who reportedly failed to resurface while swimming at Bargara.
Emergency services responded to the incident after it was reported by members of the public around 5.50pm yesterday, near Woongarra Scenic Drive.
The swimmer is described as being a Caucasian male with a bald head.

The operation was suspended at 10.00pm last night and resumed at 6.00am today.
Specialist officers are supporting search operations, including Surf Lifesaving Queensland, State Emergency Service, Volunteer Marine Rescue, and LifeFlight.
Anyone with information that could assist is urged to contact police.
There are no current missing persons reported.
