Rumours have been circulating for quite a while now about whether Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker would return for a fourth instalment of the Rush Hour franchise. Well it’s being reported that Paramount is now actively moving forward with Rush Hour 4 after some behind the scenes discussions.

Reports are coming in from multiple sources that the current US President has been pressuring Paramount owner Larry Ellison to focus his attention on a few particular projects. One of the projects was Rush Hour 4, which it seems the president is a huge fan of. At this stage Brett Ratner is attached to direct the film with both Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan reportedly set to return.

All of the news regarding Rush hour 4 returning comes with mixed emotions for many. Whilst seeing Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker reunite is joyous for many, seeing Brett Ratner attached causes alarms for others. Since Rush Hour 3 (2007) graced our screens Brett Ratner was dropped from Hollywood as he was accused of sexual assault during the #MeToo movement back in the mid 2010’s. Since then Ratner hasn’t taken on any other projects after Hercules (2014) which starred The Rock. His first project since the allegations is currently in development and will be released in January of 2026. The project in question is a documentary about Melania Trump and the 20-days leading up to the 2025 presidential inauguration. Rush Hour 4 will be Ratner’s first feature film since 2014.
